Now Hiring

I announced that we are now hiring at the skatepark and have listed all the shops as places to go to get applications.  There should be some in the "Applications" file in the file cabinet and if you run out please feel free to print them as needed, they are available here.

10 Session Passes and Ramp Camp

As of now I hope everyone has noticed the Plan Nine Skatepark sign in the shop. This is there to let customers know about the park. It is also your responsibility to tell customers about the park. Along with telling them about the park we can now sell 10 Session Passes and Ramp Camp sessions.

10 Session Passes will be in the register and can be sold through the POS system like any other product in the store. They have a barcode on the back to scan onto a sale. They cost $99 and are valid for 10 regular sessions to the original user (meaning they can be gifted but the first person to use them in the park is the only person that can use them). They can also purchase a rental helmet at the time of the 10 session pass purchase for an additional $20, just scan the barcode for the pass and then search (or find the barcode in the binder) for "helmet add-on" and add that to the sale. When you sell a 10 session pass you MUST PUNCH A HOLE WHERE THE LETTER "H" IS on the card unless they pay the extra $20 to get a helmet rental with it. It is very important to remember to punch a hole on the "H" or they get the helmet rental for free. Also, you do not need to write the name on the back of the card, that will be done at the time of their first session redemption, you must however, WRITE THE DATE ON THE BACK OF THE PASS IN SHARPIE (or other permanent marker). Currently these passes do not expire but it will help us track these. REMEMBER, THESE PASSES ARE LIKE $99 CASH, so if one turns up missing it will be taken out of your paycheck. It is very important that these are not misplaced or stolen. Once these leave the store they are valid for 10 Sessions at the park. You will have 10 in your register everyday (barring any are sold since the last time a manager was present) and they must all be accounted for at the end of your shift.

You can also sell Ramp Camp sessions at the shops. Just have them fill out the application attached to the Ramp Camp flyer and ring the camp into the POS system (search for "ramp camp" or find the barcode in the binder). Staple an extra copy of the receipt to the application and place both into my inbox.

Both of these are very important to start pushing now so we can generate some revenue for the skatepark before the doors get opened. Also, if people are interested in the park have them fill out a Hook Up form and they will get on the mailing list for all the updates.

Plan Nine Skatepark

If you have not heard by now, we are opening a skatepark this summer. It will be at the St. Louis Mills Mall in the old Xgames park location. The opening date is tentatively set for Go Skate Day weekend, most likely opening to the public on Friday, June 19th. The park will open with all the existing ramps left over from the Xgames park and a Plan Nine shop consisting of hardgoods only. We will be launching the shop with our full selection for back to school. With the park we will have summer camp, party rooms, lessons, and more, all this will be set up over the next few weeks. Please tell every customer you come in contact with about the park and let them know we will have brochures and more info for the park soon.

Red Bull

When you count the Red Bull be sure you take the time to remove the cans (if needed) and replace them nicely. Just about all of the 40+ cans I just counted were dinged or smashed. Take pride in your work and what you sell, your customers will notice.

Product Hold

In most cases we do not hold product for customers. If someone asks about a hold let them know that most products don't move that quickly so if they plan to come back anytime within the week they should be fine. If they are persistent about having a product held you can do it but you must do the following. PUT A NOTE ON IT! Be sure the note has the following info, date held, date they will be back to get it, your name, and the customers name. I am bringing this up because of the numerous items that are sitting in the back of St. Peters right now that are "on hold". If they really want it they will put a deposit on it, and if they need it transferred or custom ordered they have to put a deposit on it. Don't hesitate to offer to order it for them, no matter what it is, just be sure to get a deposit and fill out the "Special Order Form". If it ends up being out of stock I can suggest them a different item and normally they will find something they like.
REMEMBER, always under promise and over deliver! Telling the customer you can do something and not following through is as good as telling them to go shop somewhere else.

New Complete Prices

Please note that the Shop Complete discount has changed from -$20 to -$15 and the logo complete discount has changed from -$15 to -$10. We are seeing decreased margins on a lot of hardgoods and this will help make up some ground. This does not need to be advertised to our customers as it will not be a shock to most, completes are typically purchased yearly at most so it will not be an obvious change. This brings the average shop complete price to $94 and right around $101 with tax.

Daily To-Do Lists

We have implemented the daily to-do list as of this week and it is something that needs to be kept up on from here on out. Please see the link that has been added to the blog for all the info. There you will see the list with links to descriptions of each of the tasks that need to be done. This is required and must be done by each employee on every shift. If you have any questions please ask myself or the the manager.
