Groupon-Sunday, May 1st

We will be participating in the Groupon email promotion on Sunday, May 1st. If you are unfamiliar with Groupon you should take some time to check it out. It is a huge trend right now and is a great way to acquire new customers. Our Groupon will be for either a 5 session pass for $28 or an All Day Pass for $14. Both deals will run simultaneously and a customer can get either one. I will go over how to redeem them once they come in but before I do I want everyone to understand that this is a new customer acquisition tool and will be bringing in lots of new faces. It is important that we convert those new customers to life long customers. So if you get someone hands you a Groupon be sure to put on a smile and talk about the business. Give them a ramp camp brochure and tell them all about it, tell them about the next all nighter, about lessons, about anything. We want them to know all the Plan Nine has to offer. I know we do this already but lets be on top of it more now than ever.

How it works-
Potential Customers will be emailed a Groupon link to the "Daily Deal". From there they purchase one of many different deals for that day. They buy it directly from Groupon and Groupon in time pays us a portion of that money. Once they buy the Groupon they can then redeem it at Plan Nine. We will be offering two unique deals, a 5 session pass for $28 and an all day pass for $14. Each of these will be easy to understand and redeem.
How to Redeem-
Once a customer has their Groupon they can bring it in to Plan Nine to redeem the service. To redeem it you will need to go to the Groupon website redemption page, it can be found at the following here. If you are asked to log in the info is as follows:
Log In: casey@plan-nine.net
Password: group1up
Once you are at the Groupon redemption page you need to enter the redemption code into the "Redemption code" box. The redemption code is the barcode with the 8 digit number underneath it. You can either scan the barcode or enter the 8 digit number manually. Disregard the "Bill Total" box as that is not applicable to our Groupon. Once the number is entered into the box you will get one of three responses:
"Groupon Redeemed" - this means the Groupon was redeemed successfully and you can then proceed to enter it into the POS system
"Groupon Previously Redeemed" - this means that the Groupon has already been used and it cannot be redeemed again. If a customer feels this is an error you can search for it by downloading the "All Redeemed Customers". If you are unable to satisfy them by doing that you will need to have them contact Groupon at 1 (877) 788-7858
"Groupon was not recognized" - This will typically occur if the wrong Groupon code has been presented (this will most likely happen on the mobile app) or if the code was entered wrong. Try to reenter the code and if it still doesn't work then have them contact Groupon at 1 (877) 788-7858
After you have redeemed the Groupon you can proceed with the sale in the POS system. There will be a separate item for each of the promotions on Groupon. They are as follows:
SKU# 143519 - 5 Session Pass for $28
SKU# 143520 - All Day Session Pass for $14
If they purchase 5 Session Pass just use a 10 Session Pass and punch out 5 of the holes and the H. If they purchase an All Day Pass just give them an All Day/Employee wristband.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Complete Skateboards Are Win Win

As I'm sure you already noticed the Holiday Completes are in stock. These are a staple of our holiday sales every year. SELL THESE FIRST! If any customer comes in looking for a complete board as an Christmas gift please show them the preassembled completes first. There are many reasons to sell these that benefit both us and the customer:

Customer Benefits - Solution
  • Best price of any complete skateboard - save money to afford even more great gifts
  • Pre-assembled means it can be returned - provides peace of mind when it comes to buying a complete skateboard, if it isn't perfect it can be swapped for what the customer really wanted
  • Color and graphic schemes - they won't have to pick out each and every component when they typically don't know exactly what they want
  • Smaller sizes for beginners and young skaters - the perfect board for the younger/beginner skater
  • Save time with pre-assembly - the holidays are hectic, help them make their purchase and be on their way
Plan Nine Benefits
  • These are cheaper so they are easier to sell, less sticker shock for first time buyers
  • They carry a much higher margin than any custom built complete
  • pre assembled and ready to go, save time and energy by simply handing over the board
  • smaller sizes so you can better accommodate the beginner/younger skater
  • lots of back stock, if they are just looking you can be assured it will be there when they come back to purchase
Remember to grab the completes from the back room when you sell them. We should have enough to get us all the way through Christmas. Don't forget SELL THEM A UNIT TOOL, only $10 and we have every color under the sun!

PLEASE NOTE: ONLY USE DRY ERASE MARKERS ON WRISTBAND ENVELOPES FROM HERE ON OUT.
In order to be more efficient we are now using wristband sheets that are permanently attached to the envelopes. The wristband sheets will be used in the same was as before except that instead of using a pen you will use a dry erase marker to fill in the sheet. Once the sheet is full it can be erased and filled out again.
