Selling Memberships In Store

A recent issue occurred where a customer bought a membership in store.  It was not done correctly and the members were never added to the membership list and the customer was not set up on a reoccurring billing cycle.  Please see the following documentation on how to sell memberships in store.

Selling Memberships at POS

1. go to: http://plan-nine.net/site/product-category/membership/ - screen shot

2. Click on either “Individual Membership” or “Family Membership”

NOTE:  You must click on the Actual Membership image from not the “Sign Up Now” link as you have to enter the name/names of the members before you can add it to the cart

Family Memberships are for up to 4 skatepark participants living in the same household.  Individual Memberships are for 1 person.

3a. If selling a “Family Membership” you need to enter the name of all the members that will be able to use the pass in the text boxes below the price.  If there is less than 4 members total you need to enter “NA” in the boxes that will not be used.  You must put text in each box in order to move to the next step. - screen shot

3b. If selling an “Individual Membership” you need to enter the name of the member that will be able to use the pass in the text box below the price.  You must enter a name in the text box in order to move to the next step.

4. Once the names of the members have been entered into the text box press the “Sign Up Now” button below the member names.  This will take you to the “Checkout” page to enter the billing address, account password, and credit card information.

5a. Enter all the required fields on the “Checkout” page.  Use the information of the credit card holder (the payer) to populate the fields. - screen shot

“First Name *” required - enter the first name of the card holder

“Last Name *” required - enter the last name of the card holder

“Company Name” disregard

“Address *” required - enter the street address of the card holder

“Town / City *” required - enter the city name of the card holder

“State *” required - choose the state name of the card holder from the drop down menu

“Zip *” required - enter the zip code of the card holder

“Email Address *” required - enter the primary email address of the card holder )this will be used to log into their account later

“Phone *” required - enter the primary phone number of the card holder

“Account password” enter and reenter the password the customer would like to use to access their account.  They can change this later but it must be entered to process the order.  If they don’t want to choose the password there you can just enter it as “1234” and they can log into their account later and change it.

5b. Once you have entered all the customer information please confirm the amount to be billed is correct.  Repeat the amount to the customer for their confirmation. - screen shot

5c. Enter their Credit Card number, expiration month and date, and the 3 digit CSV code (the last 3 numbers found on the back of the credit card.

5d. Confirm all the information is correct and click “Sign Up Now” at the bottom of the page.

6. Once the order has processed it will take you to the “Order Received” page and give you a summary of the charges.  You can print this page out if they would like a receipt. - screen shot

7. Explain to them that this is a reoccuring charge and it will charge on the same day of every month that the first order was made.  They can go to the website and log into their account if they wish to cancel the membership or make any changes to their account.

Your username is your first initial followed by your last name, i.e. "cotto"
Your password is you last name followed by the last four of your SS#, i.e. "otto1234"

Sales Training

Thank you everyone for attending our staff meeting on Sunday.  I want to follow up with our sales training as it will be very important this holiday season.

Please navigate to Sales > Sales Training in the sidebar of the Staff Site.  That will open a page consisting of links to all the videos we watched during our meeting.  Please watch the last three videos as well as any you feel you need to be refreshed on.

Once you have watched all the videos please take the Test that is linked at the bottom of the page.  Each employee will need to take the test and get 100% of the answers correct.  I will review the answers after you have taken the test and let you know the results.

We’re kicking off the anniversary week with a BMX Jam on the street section in the back of the skatepark.  It will be a “no run - jam style” event with prizes for the best tricks given out on the fly.  Practice start at 5pm, jam starts at 6:30pm.  Entry is $10 and includes open session from 5pm - 9pm.
After the jam we’ll be premiering the brand new Fit “Holy Fit” DVD at 8pm.  Free to all.

Tree Bicycle Co. presents the third annual STL PRO bmx park contest.  The contest will be a pro/am format with classes for beginner, expert, and pro with a cash purse for pro.

Sun, Oct. 26 12pm - 4pm - Ride Clinic
Learn from the Plan Nine Team during this 4 hour clinic.  Our BMX and Skateboard team riders will be on hand to help teach you some new skills and session with anyone who comes.  This will be a fun way to ride with some of the areas best bikers and skaters while picking their brains on how to do some of those elusive maneuvers.  12pm - 4pm, $10 to participate.

Mon, Oct. 27, 7pm - Game of B.I.K.E.
Be the last one remaining.  This game will be a take on the skateboarding version of S.K.A.T.E. with two classes, “no pegs, no brakes” and “pegs and brakes”.  Entry is $10 and includes open session from 5pm - 9pm.

Tues, Oct. 28, 7pm - Game of S.K.A.T.E.
This will be a classic style game of S.K.A.T.E. separated into two classes (13 and under, 14 and over).  Entry is $10 and includes open session from 5pm - 9pm.

Wed, Oct. 29, 5pm - 10pm - Ramp Riders Session
One of the best things about St. Louis is the ever growing number of places to skate and ride.  To show our support to the scene as a whole we are inviting everyone out to Ramp Riders Skatepark (www.rampriders.net) in downtown St. Louis for a fun session.  If you’ve never been this is a great chance to check out a new park.  Regular session fees apply, see website for details.

Thurs, Oct. 30, 6pm - Team Demo/Ride with Team
Come watch the Plan Nine Skate and BMX Team shred the park.  There will be a 30 minute demo with the team and then a jam session afterwards.  Ride the park with them or just hang out and watch, everyone is welcome.  Free to watch, $10 to ride with the team and includes open session from 5pm - 9pm.

Fri, Oct. 31, 5pm to Midnight - Halloween Bash
Come in costume and stay late.  We’ll be having a Halloween Party into the wee hours of the night and you’re invited.  They’ll be lots of different games and activities, candy,  and free pizza.  Entry is $10 and includes open session from 5pm - Midnight and free pizza.

Sat, Nov. 1, 1pm - 6pm - Skateboard Contest
It’s been awhile since we’ve had a skate contest so get ready to see some new faces.  There will be 3 classes to choose from, Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert.  Courses to be determined the day of the event.   Come show everyone what you’ve got!  Practice starts at 10am, beginner class starts at 1pm, intermediate class starts at 2:30pm, and expert starts at 4pm.  $10 to enter any class and includes skating for the entire day.

Sun, Nov. 2, 5pm - 7pm - Past, Present, and Future Party
Invites will be going out to everyone that has ever been a part of the Plan Nine Family.  Team, staff, volunteers, friends, and family.  If there is someone you remember from the old days of Plan Nine (or even I.C.H. Skatepark) chances are they’ll be here.  Skating, riding, hanging out, it will be a fun day and our way of paying homage to everyone that has helped us make it  10 years.  $10 all day sessions.

STL PRO 2014 Details

STL PRO is less than a month away and I wanted to give out some more details.

The event is Saturday, Oct. 25th and will kick off our 10th Anniversary celebration.

This is the copy that has been going out to the masses

"Tree Bicycle Co. presents the third annual STL PRO bmx park contest in conjunction with Plan Nine’s 10 Year Anniversary.  The event, normally held in the spring, has been moved back to be a part of Plan Nine’s 10 Year Anniversary celebration that includes 10 days of events and contests.  The contest will be a pro/am format with classes for beginner, expert, and pro with a cash purse for pro."

During the weekend of the event they can register at the park (Friday or Saturday).  Their entry fee gets them unlimited riding for the entire weekend of the event.

Tony Hawk and Birdhouse Demo

In case you haven't heard, Tony Hawk and the Birdhouse Team will be at Plan Nine on August 13th.  He and the team will be skating a demo in the park and anyone is welcome to watch and skate with the team.

We will not be advertising that skating with the team is an option because we want to make sure the team can do their thing while they are out there but it will be something kids can do if they want.  It should be a fun event and I expect a lot of people to make it out.

There will a be a $15 session for all that want to attend that day.  It will be good for an all day session no matter what time they come in.

The SKU is 147153

Please use that SKU when ringing people out for the session.  Bikes and scooters will not be allowed on the course during the demo, skateboarders only.

Text Blast Sign Up

We are pushing for patrons to sign up for out text blast service.  This service will send out text blasts about upcoming events, product sales, and other important things we are doing at Plan Nine.  We will also be able to send alerts about things that come up last minute, like athlete appearances and snow day openings.

I have put out twitter, Facebook, and instagram posts with information about the sign up as well as placed signage in the store.  The current promotion gives anyone new who signs up a free regular  session to Plan Nine within 30 days of the text receipt.  Below is what the text they receive will look like.

Please note the following when giving free sessions with this text.

• they must present their phone with the message on it to receive the free session
• only one free session per message displayed
• the session is only valid for their next session (for example, if they sign up at the register when they arrive for a session they must come back to use the free session, they cannot use it to pay for the session they are currently in the park for)
• the free session expires 30 days from the date they received it
• this is only for new text message blast sign ups, they will not get a message sent to their phone if they have signed up in the past
• this is good for a regular 2 hour session only ($12 value)
• make sure they delete the message when it is redeemed (if they cannot delete it just make sure they know it is a one time use coupon)
• use SKU # 146435 to ring in the session discount

Please encourage everyone who comes in to sign up.  This is one of the best methods of marketing out there right now and we want to do our best to get all our patrons on the list.

Spring Break Ramp Camp

We are going to try and do a Spring Break Ramp Camp this year.  It may be tough as most schools will be making up snow days during their regularly scheduled spring breaks but I figured we'd give it a shot and see if we get any enrollment.
